KFC UK sales surge on Pickle Mania success

KFC’s UK and Ireland division reported double-digit sales growth in the second quarter of 2026, driven by the success of its limited-time Pickle Mania menu, which became one of the chain’s most popular launches.
Same-store sales rose 10% compared to the previous quarter and 9% year to date, according to the company. The Pickle Mania promotion also set a record for the highest sales week in KFC UK&I’s history, selling 4.2 million gherkin slices in the quarter.
Pickle Mania’s impact
The menu, introduced earlier this year, tapped into a broader trend of bold, tangy flavors. The chain described it as one of its “biggest-ever” limited-time offerings.
Rob Swain, KFC UK&I’s general manager, credited the growth to menu innovation and customer demand for new options. “Creating bold new products inspired by the latest trends has created real excitement,” he said. “Pickle Mania swept the country, and we’re seeing that translate into sales.”
Most limited-time offers generate a temporary spike, but few sustain momentum across an entire quarter. The question now is whether KFC can replicate this success without overloading its menu.
The chain has since expanded its offerings, including a street food-inspired range with naan bread as burger buns and a new Tenders & Dips lineup, which introduced nine dipping sauces alongside its Original Recipe Chicken Tenders.
Expansion and franchise growth
Beyond the menu, KFC continued its physical expansion, opening seven new restaurants in the first half of 2026. In June, the company and its franchise partner FPG Foods announced plans to double FPG’s UK estate, aiming for 50 locations by 2030.
As part of the deal, FPG will acquire 17 existing KFC restaurants across London and southern England.
KFC also rolled out its Kwench by KFC specialty drinks range to 500 restaurants during the quarter.
Swain acknowledged the role of restaurant teams and franchise partners in sustaining growth. “Their hard work is what keeps customers coming back,” he said. “We’re excited to keep building on this momentum together.”
The chain’s ability to maintain this pace will depend on whether future promotions can match Pickle Mania’s impact.
